The Storehouse Food Pantry, a faith-based non-profit charity, is dedicated to tackling hunger issues not only in Coffee County but also in surrounding areas like Bedford, Cannon, Franklin, Grundy, and Warren counties.

Founded by President Staria Davison in 2018, the pantry's inception stemmed from a divine vision she received on June 19th. Inspired by this vision of a warehouse filled with unpriced canned goods and a directive from God to feed His children, Staria embarked on a mission to "clean out the storehouse and get ready for bigger things." Guided by the words of Malachi 3:10, she named the pantry the Storehouse Food Pantry.

Staria's vision found solid ground with the unwavering support of Vice President Laurie Campbell, who recognized God's plan for her to join Staria in this endeavor. Laurie has witnessed firsthand the profound impact of their work on the community. She has taken the lead in organizing the dedicated volunteers who faithfully contribute their time every week, ensuring that the mission becomes a reality.

 

Since its inception, the pantry has experienced steady growth. In 2021 alone, it made a remarkable impact, serving an impressive number of families. With over 174,000 pounds of food donated to 7,330 families, comprising over 19,000 individuals, the pantry played a crucial role in addressing food insecurity in the region. This achievement was made possible through the dedication of over 5,600 volunteer hours.

Furthermore, the pantry has undergone significant improvements to its infrastructure, including the installation of heating and air systems, the donation of two three-door freezers, a walk-in cooler, and a 26-foot box truck for food pickups. These enhancements ensure greater efficiency and capacity to meet the growing needs of the community.

The Storehouse Food Pantry stands as a beacon of hope, embodying the power of faith, compassion, and community involvement in the fight against hunger.
